Only sign that contract with the Roofing Company if you have fully researched all of the points discussed thus far, and every item that matters to you is on the contract.
The contract should be a clean copy, without anything marked out.
This final contract ideally should be reviewed by your attorney. And if you played it extra smart, your attorney will have given you advice and feedback already.
The contract should have ZERO hand writing – except for Signatures and possibly the date(s).
The contract should be organized.
The contract should be very clear, not confusing.
You might be happy with the contract that the Roofing Company provides, in whatever format, state, etc. Of course, this is your call.
I’ll state again, “A verbal agreement isn’t worth the paper it is printed on.”.
And today, that can be in electronic document format, PDF, etc.
Electronic documents can be modified after the fact, so make sure you have copies. Even print out a copy. Send yourself an email copy. Save a copy to your computer.
And a reminder that you are NOT obligated to sign a contract if you don’t feel 100% comfortable with how the Roofing Company will take care of you.
If you haven’t read the article “Items to make SURE, are included in Roofing quote and contract”, it is a MUST READ before you sign.
