Scheduling Date(s) For New Roof Installation

The contract is signed, and it is finally time to schedule your new roof installation.

The contract will usually provide an approximate time frame, more or less. It is entirely possible that the contract would have a specific time, but this is a pretty difficult thing to get specific, for a busy Roofing Company.

The more roofs that are in the pipeline, the more difficult.

A theoretical example: A Roofing Company has new roof installations that fill up their schedule for the next three weeks. Already, those jobs are not locked in to hard dates, even if they are strongly locked in. Unforeseen conditions can lengthen current projects, weather can come in and cause a week of unexpected delay.

So in general, the Roofing Company you selected, and signed a contract with, will give you an approximate date to schedule your new roof installation.

You, in turn, get to provide input on what works with your schedule. For instance, Friday thru Sunday might be off limits. And your roof might be a bit much for a one day roof. This means to start your roof on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. You might prefer Tuesday. YOU GET TO CHOOSE.

This might even be an additional item to put in the contract BEFORE it is signed, so that the Roofing Company and you are in agreement.

If on the other hand, you are available all days, aren’t too worried about when, can be ready for the Roofing Company to start a moments notice, make sure you let them know. A customer that can be a fill in ahead of time because of scheduling issues on other projects can be a very welcome option.

Scheduling Roofing installations can be tricky, and the more you can do to help the Roofing Company, the better!

In general, once a tentative timeline is given, the closer to that timeline the Roofing Company should be in touch to narrow it down, until the actual installation date is agreed upon, and then deliveries as appropriate can be made.

Some Roofing Companies will have a third party dumpster delivered. Some Roofing Companies bring their own dump trailer.

Some Roofing Companies have shingles delivered to the rooftop with a crane like unit, some Roofing Companies might bring their own shingles.

Each scenario is different, and all of the logistics should be explained, worked out and all parties aware of the plan BEFORE the day of the new roofing installation.
