It is imperative that your new roof gets a through inspection before payment.
I made this a standalone section as I think this aspect deserved specific attention.
Yes, it might cost you a couple hundred bucks to get a competent individual to inspect. And even then, only what is observable can be inspected. There is no way to peel away the installation to see how things were handled below. This is a best effort.
The inspection needs to be detailed, and isn’t a 5 minute walk around. A careful observation – call it 30 minutes to really, really spend some time.
Any deficiencies need to be corrected by the Roofing Company.
It is still going to require trust, unless the complete process of correction is observed by a competent individual.
If the roof inspection passes, you are ready to pay the remaining balance on your roof.
