When it comes to working hard, how much does that matter?
Which would you rather have: Someone working very hard on your roof, or someone that installs your new roof CORRECTLY?
Simple analogy
You hire someone to dig a ditch along a marked line, the line makes a gradual curve. The ditch needs to be precisely 12 inches wide, and 12 inches deep.
Turns out this guy is a DYNAMO!!
This was expected to an all day job, but the shovel is hitting hard, the dirt is flying!
In four hours, he reports that he is finished.
Examining the ditch, it is indeed 12 inches wide, and 12 inches deep.
Very hard work. Was it worth it?
But then you realize the ditch was more straight, the path wasn’t followed. Was the hard work still worth it?
The just dug ditch goes over part of a septic lateral line, rending the ditch completely useless.
The ditch that was dug, is completely useless.
A different guy is hired to dig the ditch as requested. He works slower, and takes all day.
The completed ditch is 12 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and follows the guidelines exactly.
Which provided value? Which actually took away value?
Apply this to the roofers on your house. Just because they are working, hauling, expending energy – it doesn’t mean jack about quality.
